KHAT Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ALSHAYA Technologies LLC operates KHAT and how information may be collected, used, shared, retained, and deleted when people use KHAT, the KHAT app, website, support channels, or related services.

1. Overview

KHAT is operated by ALSHAYA Technologies LLC. This policy applies to KHAT app, website, support, and related services. Users should not use KHAT if they do not agree with the policy.

2. Information we may collect

  • Account information: name, email address, login method, account identifiers.
  • Contact and support information: messages sent to support, issue details, attachments if voluntarily provided.
  • Purchase and transaction information: order references, selected plan, amount, currency, receipts, payment status, refund or support history. KHAT does not store full payment card numbers.
  • eSIM and service information: purchased plan, destination, coverage details, activation status, installation information, usage-related status where available.
  • Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, language, country/region settings, IP address, diagnostics, crash logs, performance data.
  • App usage information: interactions with app screens, settings, support pages, and product flows.
  • Communications preferences: email preferences and service-related notices.
  • Location information: KHAT may use country/region selection, destination choice, IP-derived region, or user-provided travel destination to provide relevant plans and support. Precise device location is only collected if the app requests it and the user grants permission.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • provide and operate KHAT
  • create and manage accounts
  • process purchases and receipts
  • deliver and support eSIM plans
  • provide activation guidance
  • troubleshoot issues
  • respond to support requests
  • improve product reliability and usability
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations
  • send service notices and support communications
  • send optional marketing only if allowed or opted in

4. How information may be shared

KHAT does not sell users’ personal information as a core business model. Information may be shared with:

  • connectivity/eSIM service partners when needed to provide purchased plans
  • payment processors for payment authorization, fraud checks, receipts, chargebacks, or refunds
  • cloud hosting, database, analytics, diagnostics, and customer support service providers
  • app stores and platform providers where required for app distribution, purchases, compliance, or support
  • legal, compliance, security, or business advisors when necessary
  • authorities if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security
  • business transfers such as merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets

5. Payments

KHAT may use third-party payment processors. KHAT does not store full payment card numbers. Payments are handled by payment providers according to their own terms and privacy practices. KHAT may receive limited payment-related information such as transaction status, amount, currency, and receipt/reference details.

6. eSIM connectivity partners

To provide eSIM plans, KHAT may share necessary order, plan, activation, destination, and technical information with connectivity partners. These partners may process information needed to activate, deliver, troubleshoot, and support the service.

7. International data transfers

Because KHAT is operated by a US company and serves travelers, information may be processed in countries other than the user’s country of residence.

8. Data retention

KHAT keeps information only as long as reasonably necessary for providing the service, account management, support, security, fraud prevention, tax/accounting/legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Some records may be retained after account deletion where required for legal, tax, security, fraud prevention, or dispute reasons.

9. Account deletion and data deletion

Users can request deletion of their KHAT account and associated data by using the data deletion page or contacting khat@alshayatech.com.

10. User choices and rights

Users may access/update account information, opt-out of marketing emails, manage permission controls on their device, and request deletion. Regional rights may vary by location. Contact support for privacy questions.

11. Children

KHAT is not intended for children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law. KHAT does not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Security

KHAT uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

13. Changes to this policy

KHAT may update this policy and will update the “Last updated” date accordingly.
